Ephraim (sold)

Imagine this man, Ephraim. Adorning a great long beard. Walking up to Jerusalem. Climbing mountains, going down valleys. Birds twit above, green fields, and vineyards all around. Sheep graze, and here and there a tent, a sukkah (hut), people, serenity.

…and his basket, oh what a grand basket it is. Full of the fruits of his hard labor. He, by himself plowed his field, by himself watered, and by himself guarded.

… and now here he is. After a long arduous journey. He is here at the great temple, presenting the high priest with his gift. On his face a huge proud smile. Oh yes, he has a lot to be proud of!
